Miss Willis

.

Miss Willis is the founder of Growing Spirit and teaches from the heart about her love of the earth.

She is an avid gardener, natural medicine seeker and lover of indigenous principles. She teaches from this place and connects with kids as the creators of their own worlds.

She believes that cultural traditions are extremely valuable and works to preserve all of these things through her relationships and developments on Johns Island.

Other Teachers :

We have had some amazing teachers over the years who teach classes in the following subjects: Math, Spanish, Tap, Gardening/Medicinal, English/Lit & Science.

Age brackets are Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School

Some of them are available for tutoring, and each of them did classes in the fall semester of 2020 in our facebook group to support your child’s learning needs.

MR. NOODLE MCDOODLE

MR. NOODLE MCDOODLE

MR. NOODLE

Mr. Noodle is serious fun! Extremely talented and always keeps the best sense of humor :)

Mr. Noodle got his nickname while working at Camp Winnarainbow in the last century. He had just graduated from Reed College (where he studied Religion and Philosophy) and taught stilts, juggling, cooperative games, clowning, and theater at this famous circus arts camp.

Noodle went on to teach preschool and tutor math, in Oregon. He moved to the Lowcountry with his wife Eden and they started a Swing dance band called The V-Tones of Charleston. Noodle is an avid ukulele enthusiast, a busy math tutor, and is very excited to be teaching this year.

His focus will be on Middle School Math skill development.

MRS. EMILY

MRS. EMILY

mRS. EMILY

Mrs. Emily is an incredible Spanish teacher who has a wonderful youthful spirit when connecting to young people. She will be providing entry level Spanish classes for all age levels with follow up or furthering work that has skill levels based on age/grade, as well as a monthly zoom meeting for students to practice in person with their teacher :)

She spent time in Spain perfecting her language skills and many years coming up with songs and other fun learning tools to make learning a foreign language memorable.

What a joy to create connection across cultural worlds that we truly share by adding the Spanish language to our communication skills!

Thank you Mrs. Emily for being such a creative and positive force.

MRS. EDEN

MRS. EDEN

MRS. EDEN

Mrs. Eden is an expert when it comes to having fun moving yourself to good music for expression and good times!

Tap classes with her will include some stretching, expression of how the movements feel in the body, mind and heart, as well as basics of tap that can be incorporated into the kids movement lives. She will also offer a monthly zoom meeting so as to review choreography and any questions on tap and feelings :)

What a treasure! Mrs. Eden also joins Mr. Noodle around town for live performances so one day you can see them perform outdoors for some in person family fun.

Thank you Mrs. Eden for being such a special expressive person which allows us all to feel all our feels and enjoy all the movement too!

She is knowledgeable, accepting, intuitive. and truly has a deep love for teaching children. She makes the world a better place with her actions and passions. Science is a tangible experience with her great guidance, and she is excited to do some zoom live feedback communications with the children as they learn and grow.
